As Best As I Can Remember Me

The fun began in the Parks and Recreation
department in Mesa, Az. My girlfriend at the
time was interested in some classes they
offered in leather crafting and consequently
so was I.  We took several leather crafting
classes together. Designing was fun and there were so many choices and
techniques to choose from. I found a great outlet for some of my pent up
creativity.  My next “hippie step” interest came along the lines of beading. Beads
are beautiful!!  All colors, shapes, designs and sizes. It was a great time….1967.
I sold necklaces and earrings, all custom designed by me, to my own delight, to
local head shops and boutiques along the waterfront. (Did I mention I was now
    living in Newport Beach, CA?)

Let’s breeze through the next life segment. Married, I was drafted, Vietnam War,
Fort Ord, Monterey, California.  War too long, little leave but productive…
beautiful baby daughter, Shannon 1971.  While in Fort Ord I had a friend who
worked in the Physical Therapy ward and we would go in at night and make all
kinds of wood, leather and metal crafts.  I opened my own leather shop in
Laguna Beach, CA. called “The Leather Factory” the same year. Endless
creativity…belts, purses, shoes, sandals, pouches, luggage, you name it. Juried
into “SAWDUST FESTIVAL” Laguna Beach, CA. with my leather works, I
remained there for the next 17 years, evolving everyday, from leather to
silversmithing Indian style jewelry to bronze jewelry.

While in Laguna Beach I applied to Laguna Beach School of Art and Design. I
received scholarships in Jewelry, Photography, Sculpture, Ceramics, and
Painting. In 1979 a beautiful boy was born into the world.  His name was Kelly
Morgan.   In 1986 I moved to Seattle and became involved in the artist
community there.  I got tired of all the people, red lights and traffic and moved to
McCall Idaho where the air is fresh and the skiing was the best and no red lights.
I then moved to the great capitol of Idaho “Boise” and that’s where we base our
business from now. While in Boise I attended Boise State and finished my junior
year.  I need to finish one more year to receive my BA in Fine Arts.

In 1999 I married the most wonderful woman in the universe, Mary. Now I
have two more beautiful children, Chris and Megan.

We opened a store called Moonbeams in Meridian, Id. in 1997 where I created
Gold, Silver, and Bronze jewelry.  We also had one of the best New Age Gift
stores around.  We closed after eight fun years and we are now on the road
selling our Bronze Hair accessories and body adornments.
